D.C. area rapper Wale has recently released information regarding upcoming projects that have been in the works. Fans can expect his next mixtape, the Mixtape About Nothing, around mid-to-late March. Despite the title, the mixtape will definitely be about a lot of something. While speaking with DX, Wale explained, “It’s a lot of issues I’m talking about…a lot of deeper things I’m talking about.”
Seinfeld fans can expect something uniquely interesting from the mixtape, as the sitcom will be referenced throughout. However, you don’t need to be a Seinfeld fan to appreciate the mixtape – as Wale said, “They’re going to like it because of the lyrical excellence that I exercise on it…you’ll get it. Immediately.”
Wale, who despite a rising notoriety has yet to release an album, has a debut LP in the works that is looking at afFall 2008 release.
In addition, Wale recorded the song “Work,” as a tribute to Black Thought on his most recent mixtape 100 Miles & Runnin’. The song was recorded over The Roots‘ “Thought @ Work,” where the D.C. emcee cited the Philadelphia veteran as his leading inspiration. Wale has reportedly been invited as a confirmed guest on The Roots‘ forthcoming album, which will also see a mid-2008 release.
