The COVID-19 pandemic has sparked a sudden rise in divorce filings. By April 2020, the interest in divorce had already increased by 34 percent in the United States with newer couples being the most likely to file for divorce. In fact, a full 20 percent of couples who’d been married for five months or less sought divorce during this time period, compared with only 11 percent the year before, according to The National Law Review.
Naturally, it affects the celebrity world too. Dr. Dre’s wife Nicole Young filed for divorce in June 2020, Xzibit’s wife Krista Joiner filed on Monday (February 22) and now, Safaree has revealed he and Erica Mena are next in line after only two years of marriage and one child.
In a since-deleted Twitter post, the Love & Hip Hop: New York personality wrote, “I mean this from the bottom of my heart getting married was 1 of my BIGGEST mistakes and it will never happen again. I’m walking away before I End up in jail over some dumb shit. Nobody is worth my freedom!!!”
Mena responded with a post of her own and didn’t mince words, writing, “Since you always run to social media like a little girl I might as well join in. I absolutely agree with you on this. You are the most selfish, vain and inconsiderate person. And not just with me but your only daughter!”

Safaree dated Nicki Minaj from 2000 to 2014 before striking up a relationship with Mena. The couple got engaged in 2018 and tied the knot a year later.
During the course of their relationship, they became frequent fixtures on the OnlyFans platform, sharing X-rated content for their paying customers. In July 2020, Mena shared a video of herself “satisfying” Safaree, which was leaked online for all of Twitter to see.
That wasn’t the first leak Safaree suffered though. In 2018, a graphic photo of his penis started making the rounds, which ultimately led to a deal with sex toy company Doc Johnson worth millions of dollars. Together, they developed a sex toy line featuring a mold of his manhood.
