Hip Hop legend Eric B. was at the center of controversy over the weekend following the premiere of Lifetime’s Wendy Williams: The Movie. During the film, Eric B. was portrayed as a trifling, broke boyfriend who not only cheated on her during the course of their roughly one-year relationship but also used her solely for monetary gain.

At one point in the movie, the fictional Williams suggested Eric B. needed either a rental or Williams’ car to get around. On Sunday (January 31), the veteran turntablist and Blue Bloods actor shared a throwback photo to his Instagram account showing him standing next to a white Rolls Royce with the words “Damn, I need a rental” written across top. The vanity license plate reads, “Eric B 7,” making it clear the luxury car belongs to him.

He wrote in the caption, “Too hilarious I laughed to well it made for great Tv But the truth is something different Try that !!!!!!!”

According to Williams’ account in the film, she aborted their child shortly after their relationship ended. As far back as 1999, Williams has been accusing Eric B. of numerous infractions. During an episode of one of her radio shows, she said, “He was cute at the time, the ponytail, all that gold jewelry. Here’s the thing – and we all go through this. First of all, I never had a home number. It was always pagers and mind you, we dated for over a year.

Lifetime's Wendy Williams Biopic Exposes Her Allegedly Toxic Love Affair With Hip Hop Legend Eric B.

“Of course, he had other women. This was eight years ago. And eight years ago, I was still on top of my game in the radio career. So I really can’t figure out why I was this stupid. I was making pretty decent money. I was Queen of the Radio and I don’t know why I accepted it. It wasn’t like I was some scrub who had to take this from a man.”

Williams moved on with television producer Kevin Hunter, marrying him in 1997. But the pair went through a messy divorce in 2019 amid cheating allegations. The inflammatory talk show host also dragged Method Man into the drama last week when she told DJ Suss One she once had a one-night stand with the Wu-Tang Clan legend.

His wife Tamika Harris issued a statement on Monday (February 1) blasting the “miserable bitch” and suggesting she only told that story for ratings. Read her statement here.
