Mac Miller’s team has announced a double-disc vinyl box sex of the late rapper’s final albums, Swimming and Circles, called Swimming In Circles. To coincide with the announcement, Miller’s family has released some behind-the-scenes footage of the Swimming and Circles recording sessions that took place in Hawaii three years ago.
For three minutes and 30 seconds, fans of Miller get an intimate look at what went on in the studio. From Miller quietly strumming an acoustic guitar and playing a keyboard to more humorous moments of Miller on a bike and listening to a conch, each frame brilliantly captures Miller’s personality.
Producer Jon Brinon, who was the mastermind behind Circles, said both sister albums were initially intended to be part of a trio. But Miller never got a chance to complete the trilogy. On September 7, 2018, Miller’s lifeless body was discovered at his San Fernando Valley home after ingesting a fatal cocktail of cocaine and Fentanyl.

Miller was found unresponsive on his bed in a “praying position” by his assistant who described him as already being “blue” during the 911 call. He had a 1/4-inch abrasion on the bridge of his nose, and there was blood coming out of one nostril. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
On the second anniversary of Miller’s death, SZA, his longtime friend and collaborator Thundercat, Wale, Ab-Soul and more commemorated his passing on social media.
The Swimming In Circles box set is expected to arrive via Warner Music Group on December 18 and is currently available for pre-orders via Miller’s website.
