As the Verzuz platform continues to level up, more and more Hip Hop and R&B artists are trying to throw their hats into the proverbial ring. Following DMX and Snoop Dogg’s face-off on July 22, Twitter starting clamoring for a Chris Brown versus Usher showdown — even though Brown definitively stated he wanted nothing to do with it.
Now, Juicy J is attempting, once again, to get in on the action. On Monday (July 27), the Three 6 Mafia OG set his sights on the one and only Nas. After Timbaland tweeted, “What’s the next @verzuzonline?!,” J replied, “Juicy j vs Nas.”
This isn’t the first time J has set the bar high for a potential battle. Earlier this month, the Stay Trippy mastermind challenged Dr. Dre to a showdown, tweeting, “I wanna do a Verzus battle wit Dr Dre no cappuccino.”
In 2006, Three 6 Mafia became the first Hip Hop group to win an Academy Award when they won a gilded trophy in the Best Original Song category for the track “It’s Hard Out Here For A Pimp” from the Hustle & Flow soundtrack. The group’s extensive catalog paired with J’s solo work would provide plenty of songs to pull from to meet the 20-song requirement.

But like they did with Dre, many people doubt J’s discography could hold a candle to Nas’ whose 1994 debut Illmatic alone yielded several classics, including “N.Y. State Of Mind,” “The World Is Yours” and “One Love.”
The reactions to J’s suggestion are all over the place, but a lot of people are upset anyone is even toying with the notion J could beat Nasty Nas.
