Birdman wants to lend a helping hand to New Orleans residents during the coronavirus pandemic. The Cash Money Records boss has offered to pay the month of May’s rent for anyone in need living in the city’s Uptown residential area.

“I would like 2 offer to pay everybody rent for month of May (for those who in need) in residents area of UPTOWN New Orleans where I was born and raised at from mac melph calio and ST Thomas housing also from 3rd ward to 17th ward,” Birdman wrote on Instagram alongside a photo with his brother Ronald “Slim” Williams.

The Hip Hop mogul also called on the Housing Authority of New Orleans to aid him in accomplishing the good deed and asked Mayor LaToya Cantrell for her help.

“I would like HANO to support us on accomplishin this and @q93fm,” he noted. “I also spoke with @theuptownangela to help me put this togather I would like our mayor @mayorcantrell help support this cause also wanna thank all hospital on front line Risking they life to save lives I wanna thanks everybody that wrk with tha Gladys and Johnny foundation my company cashmoney records.”

Birdman’s charitable offer comes a few weeks after Master P set up free home cleanings for senior citizens in New Orleans. The two record executives’ hometown has been hit hard by COVID-19, accounting for the most cases in Louisiana.

As of Tuesday (April 21), New Orleans alone has reported 6,169 total cases with 344 deaths.
