The longstanding beef between Jim Jones and French Montana is apparently over. On Thursday night (April 16), the two veteran rappers had a conversation on Instagram Live that ended up with two taking a trip down memory lane.
French shared a clip of the reunion on his Instagram page that found the Diplomats MC recalling a trip to the MTV Music Awards where French flipped him off. Although Jones got upset, he said Juelz Santana and a boatload of security was him and convinced him not to react. To his surprise, French said Jones held his security back and took off.
“15 YEARS OF BEEFING ENDED UP WITH LAUGHS AND WAR STORIES,” he wrote in the caption. “BIG MOMENT FOR HIP HOP SHOUT OUT TO @jimjonescapo #thatsafact ALL THE BLOGS THAT COVERED ALL THE BULLSHIT. MAKE SURE YALL PUT THE SAME ENERGY TO MAKING PEACE.”
Later in the conversation, French and Jones handed down some lessons they’ve learned over the years.

“If there’s anybody out there watching from the young niggas, man, learn from this,” French said. “Don’t waste 15 years in the game when y’all could have been getting all kinds of bags together,” to which Jones added, “”There’s a lot of foolish beefs and foolish shootings and there’s a lot going on right now with everybody cooped up in the house.”

In a 2019 interview, the incarcerated Coke Wave rapper Max B addressed the Jones situation and appeared to have a new, more mature perspective on it.
“It was just egos clashing, a lack of respect,” he said in the clip. That shit don’t mix well, and next thing you know, we beefin’. As far as the content or whatever, it should’ve went a different way. I think today we would’ve handled the situation differently.

“I think [it was] two egos coming together, two big personalities. We was young. We was all crazy, and now we’re here. We’re older, we got kids. [There’s] people looking at us, we gotta set the right example. We can’t be looking crazy out here. It is what it is, it’s all love. I’m trying to get back over on that plate.”
