After being postponed on Sunday (April 5), it appears that a new date has been set in stone for the highly anticipated battle between legendary producer/songwriters Teddy Riley and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds.

In a lengthy Instagram post that began by thanking fans for their birthday wishes, 62-year-old Babyface noted that the two will now go head-to-head on Saturday (April 18).

The statement also revealed that he and his family were battling COVID-19.

“I tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, as did my family,” he wrote. “I’m happy to announce we have now tested negative and our on our way to full health.”

Teddy Riley Talks Postponed Battle & 5G COVID-19 Conspiracy With Charlamagne Tha God

Teddy Riley had alluded to Babyface being sick during an Instagram Live with Charlamagne Tha God on Sunday (April 5), though he didn’t specifically say COVID-19 — which he believes is part of a ruse to conceal the results of rapid 5G expansion.

“Nobody’s backing out,” Riley noted, adding that Babyface was also under the weather. “He’s not 100 percent, you know, he’s been sick.”

The battle, which Babyface more accurately describes as a “A Celebration of Black Music Excellence,” is set to take place at 9 PM EST via the singer’s Instagram.
