Jadakiss once challenged 50 Cent to a rap battle on pay-per-view for $1 million, proposing JAY-Z and Dr. Dre be judges. During an exclusive interview with HipHopDX, the rap vet reveals the challenge was just something he “thought of” at the time.

“Battling is therapeutic for Hip Hop, but you can’t take it serious,” Kiss told DX. “I mean, you got to take it because when you’re preparing your material for your opponent but when it affects your heart or when you let it get too personal…you got to have fun with it.”

Though the veteran MC thought it’d be an easy pay day, 50 — unfortunately — declined his offer.

Elsewhere in the interview, Jada reacted to Eminem name-dropping him on The Eminem Show‘s track “Till I Collapse.”

“I got a list, here’s the order of my list that it’s in; / It goes, Reggie, Jay-Z, Tupac and Biggie / Andre from Outkast, Jada, Kurupt, Nas and then me,” Em spit on the track.

Jada told DX he has nothing but appreciation for Slim Shady’s shout out.

“It’s a beautiful thing when your colleagues and dudes like Em mention you in songs on that level, you appreciate it,” he said.
