The Hip Hop world awaits Max B’s release from prison, but the Wave God is still making his presence felt behind bars. The incarcerated rapper made an appearance on The Joe Budden Podcast via telephone on Wednesday (November 20).
In the nine-minute interview, an elated Max gave listeners nothing but good news. In an environment he deemed “unproductive,” the Harlem-bred rapper said he’s been keeping himself busy inside the prison.
“I’m grinding just trying to make shit out of nothing, you heard,” he stated. “The wave never dies. The earth is 75 percent water. I’m the water. I’m not going anywhere.”
On top of his well-being, Max gave his thoughts on the current Hip Hop scene. He gave a shout out to Young Thug, whom he’s open to collaborating with, and mentioned his goals of connecting the new generation with the old.

“A lot of dudes is waiting for me to come home,” he said. “They want to give me that feature in person.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Max hinted at a future project with French Montana and gave more information on his forthcoming House Money EP. The project will feature A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, A$AP Ferg, French Montana, Wiz Khalifa, Jadakiss, Dave East and Cam’ron.
“This is just a little taste, nothing crazy,” Max noted. “I was promoting Negro Spirituals, but I’m going to hold that because when I get out I want every ear on my shit.”
Max was originally sentenced to 75 years in prison for felony murder, armed robbery and other offenses. The sentence was reduced to 20 years in 2016, but earlier this year, Max announced his sentence had been reduced to 12 years with a release date in 2021.
