Authorities in Upstate New York may possibly charge Akon in the incident where he tossed a male fan offstage during a June 3 concert in Fishkill, NY.
According to witnesses, the concert-goer threw something at the singer, causing him to become enraged. He asked the audience to point out the culprit and then had security apprehend the young man, bringing him on stage, where he was then lifted up and tossed into the audience, landing on the ground.
Police began searching for the man in order to question him regarding the event, shortly after the video began circulating. It turns out the young man involved in the incident is 15-years-old however, it is not yet known whether he will press charges.
Jason Finkelberg, the general manager at WSPK, told The Poughkeepsie Journal that he believes the incident was blown out of proportion while the singer’s attorney Benjamin Brafman, doesn’t believe there was any criminal conduct.
