Mooch of the Rochester-bred group Da Cloth has linked up with producer Raticus for a joint album titled New York State – The Renaissance. Ahead of the 11-track LP’s October release, the duo has dropped a new single off the project: the Skyzoo-assisted “Illest.”
“A lot of times I get concepts after the artist drops their verse,” Raticus tells HipHopDX. “Once I heard Mooch’s first line saying, ‘I’m the illest,’ I was envisioning a bunch of records I could scratch into the hook. Once that was in motion, I immediately thought about adding Skyzoo to the track. I played him the track and he was with it.”
