Vermont senator Bernie Sanders had a busy schedule before the Democratic presidential debate on Tuesday in Detroit that included meeting Cardi B for the first time to create a collaborative video.
Sanders told CNN that the video, filmed at black-owned Detroit nail salon TEN Nail Bar, is for his presidential campaign to increase voter registration among young Americans for the 2020 election.
“We are working on a way to involve more young people in the political process,” Sander said. “The future of America depends on young people. They are voting in large numbers, but not large enough numbers.”
Sanders and Cardi B discussed several matters that are part of his initiatives including canceling student debt, spreading climate change awareness and increasing minimum wage for workers.
