Kokane is back with another album titled Finger Roll featuring the inimitable Bootsy Collins.

Boasting 18 new cuts, the project was produced by West Coast Stone and is bursting at the seams with “funky, soulful gangsta sounds,” lending it a throwback vibe.

Other contributors to the project include Kokane’s daughter Aanisah Long and Gipp Goodie. Ahead of its release, the West Coast rap vet dropped a video for “Doo Doo Headz,” which effortlessly captures the Parliament-Funkadelic influence and showcases what Kokane does best — keep it gangsta.

“Soul music can inspire others to uplift the conscious mind and make life a lot better,” Kokane tells HipHopDX. “When there’s so much trouble in the world, just put on your favorite song and dance your troubles away. That’s what the Finger Roll album represents — music for the soul.”
