After comfortably nestling into his Interscope label hub and lacing Future with a trio of heaters for his recently released WZRD album, Dallas native FXXXXY is brushing off homesickness by channeling his feelings in the studio with some incredible announcements.
His first full project — Far From XXXX — has been given the green light and to commemorate the root of his existence, he’s linked with HipHopDX to premiere his new “Home” record and gave the people some insight.
“‘Home’ was inspired by the lack of being home,” he explains to DX. “It came out naturally it wasn’t planned or premeditated. It just happened to fit so perfectly into the EP in ways I can’t explain until you hear it.”
If the song is reminiscent of one Drake’s impromptu, yet revered free-flowing poems, there’s a good reason for that. “Home” actually samples Andrew Brown and National Baptist Convention Choir’s “Lord Lord,” famously sampled by Drake and Just Blaze’s “Lord Knows.” It also gives the red-hot upstart a chance to call out fakery and clout chasing as he sees fit — sentiments that will be prevalent on the upcoming project.

“Far From XXXX is a roller coaster of emotions and sounds for me,” he continued. “It explains my dualities as an artist more than any song could. It was inspired by my flaws. I would say that’s the biggest influence for the project.”
