After Joey Bada$$ first announced that the Beast Coast album is complete on Wednesday (May 8), the New York-based supergroup comprised of Flatbush Zombies, Pro Era, and The Underachievers have confirmed their debut album Escape From New York is dropping on May 24. The album is set to include the singles “Left Hand” and “Coast Clear.”
While a simple Instagram post would have done the trick, the group decided to forgo the average and share the news in the most Hip Hop way possible: a revival of Rap City Tha Basement, starring Big Tigger.
Rebranded as the Beast Coast Basement Cypher, but retaining the classic set of the original, Big Tigger (who seemingly doesn’t age) kicked things off, reminding heads that Rap City would be celebrating 30 years this year. The nine-man collective then ripped through a bevy of beats, from Cam’Ron’s “Get Em’ Daddy (Remix)” and Mobb Deep’s “Hell On Earth” to Sean Paul “Gimme Da Light.”

Anyone hoping to catch the collective live are in luck — they’ll be in Miami for Rolling Loud and in their hometown for the NYC Governors Ball in June. The Escape From New York North American tour kicks off July 23 in Seattle.
