The Los Angeles Police Department denied involvement regarding audio from walkie-talkies that captured unidentified men speaking disrespectfully toward Nipsey Hussle and his family during Hussle’s memorial service.
The official LAPD Twitter account addressed the rumor, writing, “We broadcast using digital frequencies & this doesn’t appear to be a digital frequency.”
They continued, “Our broadcasts can’t be intercepted using a toy walkie-talkie.”
A Los Angeles father captured the audio from his son’s walkie-talky and claimed the voices belonged to LAPD officers using the same radio frequency.

The audio includes men speaking about Nipsey and his family at the service, saying, “Nipsey Hussle’s mom looks a lot like a male… His dad looks a lot like a female, so go figure.” The voices continued, “They should’ve drove the mother fucker and put him in the ground before he starts stinking up the place.”
Allegations that the voices belonged to LAPD officers spurred anger on social media.
The Game posted the audio clip on Instagram, writing, “This shit is disgusting & the voices in this video if they are in fact police officers should be recognized by other officers & they should be brought to the light !!!! Protect & serve right ??!!?!? Fuck outta here !!! Nips mother was beautiful yesterday & his father stood by her side & showed strength in a time we all needed to see it !!!”
