New York, NY

Fat Joe had some harsh words for fellow New Yorker Tekashi 6ix9ine. During a recent interview with Angie Martinez, the veteran MC spoke on the incarcerated rapper and explained why he went from trying to school 6ix9ine to wanting to distance himself from the polarizing artist completely.

In fact, he said he’d rather be six-feet under than be associated with him. Joe also expressed disbelief at the people who still support 6ix9ine — even after he cooperated with the feds in his racketeering case.

“I thought he was a nice guy, and now he can’t be my friend, he can’t come around me ever again,” Joe says around the 19:13-minute mark. “Those are rules. He crossed that line […] I pray for people who cross that line — when they talk to the police and they snitch, I pray for them.”

He added, “I’d die before you see me in the picture with Tekashi 6ix9ine.”

6ix9ine was arrested last November on multiple felony counts stemming from his involvement with the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. In the months since his arrest, the 22-year-old Brooklyn native has implicated several of his co-conspirators, earning him the nickname “Snitch9ine.”

In January, 6ix9ine pleaded guilty to nine counts and was facing at least 47 years in prison if convicted. However, in exchange for his full cooperation, he might not actually spend much time behind bars.

According to the unsealed plea deal, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York agreed “not to prosecute the defendant for the crimes set forth in Counts One through Nine …. as well as additional crimes that the defendant has told the government about” in exchange for the information.

Fat Joe evidently isn’t down with that.
