21 Savage has revisited his chart-topping album i am > i was for his new “a lot” video featuring J. Cole. Directed by Aisultan Seitov, the visual finds both artists holed up at a fancy dinner party while reflecting on their pasts.

The single serves as the opening track on i am > i was. Cole’s verse, which comes with some kind words aimed at Tekashi 6ix9ine, isn’t included on the CD version of the project.

“Pray for Tekashi, they want him to rot/I picture him inside a cell on a cot/’Flectin’ on how he made it to the top/Wondering if it was worth it or not,” Cole raps.

21, on the other hand, opens up about some of his demons but remembers to be grateful for his position in life.

“My brother lost his life and it turned me to a beast/My brother got life and it turned me to the streets/I been through the storm and it turned me to a G/But the other side was sunny, I get paid to rap on beats,” he raps.

i am > i was dropped last December and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
