Soulja Boy ignited a social media frenzy after he appeared on The Breakfast Club earlier this month and claimed he taught Drake everything he knows. But a daughter of the late Shawty Lo, Sakharia Searcy, has something to say about that.
On Tuesday (January 22), Searcy hopped on Instagram and insisted Big Soulja needs to acknowledge the path her father laid out for his successors.
“@souljaboy clearly you’re delusional af. give my daddy his credit he been started that ‘wave,'” she captioned a medley video.
Searcy says Shawty Lo’s 2005 single “I’m Da Man” gave birth to Soulja Boy’s 2006 cut “What’s Hannenin” and ultimately, Drake’s 2010 single, “Miss Me.”

During his interview with The Breakfast Club, Young Draco claimed Drake stole his style.
“Stop playin’ like I didn’t teach Drake everything he knows [starts singing Drake’s ‘Miss Me’],” he said. “That’s Souja! That’s my bar! He copy my whole fuckin’ flow! Word-for-word. Bar-for-bar. Don’t act like I didn’t make Drake. Don’t do that.”

Searcy is one of 11 children born to the late Shawty Lo. The Atlanta-bred rapper died in August 2016 after injuries sustained in a single-car accident on the ATL’s I-285 freeway. He was 40 years old.
