Spoken word poet Saul Williams is nearing the $150,000 goal for his Neptune Frost project’s Kickstarter campaign, so he’s let loose a new musical offering for fans.

Williams has released a song titled “The Flaw You Worship” as a thank you to fans who have dealt with the recent self-promotion for his Kickstarter campaign.

“As a way of thanking all of you who have put up with me posting way more than usual- got me feeling like a preacher trying to raise funds to fix the roof before the church anniversary – I’ve released a new song – The Flaw You Worship,” Williams wrote in an Instagram posted shared on Saturday (July 14).

As of Monday (July 16), Williams’ Kickstarter has raised around $145,000. The campaign was created to raise funds for a film version of his graphic novel and musical Neptune Frost.

On the Kickstarter page, Neptune Frost is described as a “love story between an inter-sex runaway and a coltan miner and the virtual marvel born as a result of their union.”

Williams has already secured Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator of the hit musical Hamilton, as executive producer for the film and Kara Walker as an associate producer.
