This week in Hip Hop, XXXTENTACION and Jimmy Wopo were both killed in their hometowns. Also, Teyana Taylor’s sophomore album Keep That Same Energy was released with a livestreaming party on Twitter.

The Death of XXXTENTACION

XXXTENTACION was shot and killed outside a car dealership in Florida on Monday (June 18). He was 20 years old.

Fans and the Hip Hop community mourned his death despite his controversial backstory. A memorial for X and his fans was held in Los Angeles, which ended with Melrose Avenue being shut down. A proper memorial will be held by his family in Florida.
