Following the shooting death of XXXTENTACION, the internet has been voraciously looking for someone to blame. Many have been accusing Florida rapper Soldier Kidd, who took to Instagram late Monday night (June 18) to clear his name.

According to TMZ, who cite dispatch calls, the two suspects involved in the shooting wore hoodies with one of them wearing a red mask. The official report makes no mention of the mask or any specifics about clothing, and states the suspects fled in a “dark-color SUV.”

Hours before the shooting, Soldier Kidd posted on Instagram an image of himself with Soldier Jojo sitting in a red car with a red mask. He also posted a clip of food from a restaurant about 10 minutes away from the location where XXX was shot. That photo also had a pistol in it.

This led to Soldier Kidd taking to his Instagram to defend himself.

In his post, he says he didn’t even know XXX and that he only has love for Broward. He ends it by saying, “I ain’t have nothing to do with it.”

Soldier Jojo also posted to his Instagram, saying that he respected XXX and they had nothing to do with his death. He mentions that he and Soldier Kidd have been claiming “XXX” for a while. #XXX has been attached to many of their previous posts.

Soldier Kidd is a 19-year-old rapper from Delray Beach, Florida. His latest project is titled XXX THE MIXTAPE.

Since the announcement that XXX passed, there has been an outpouring of both support and derision from the rest of the music community.
