Sunday 11/19: End of the Weak had the second of their series of showcases, featuring independent artists. The showcase series began November 12 featuring The Juggla and will commence on December 3rd with Delta. Tonight was Fresh Daily’s showcase. He performed tracks from his popular mixtape, “Mad Flavas,” and from his forthcoming LP. The crowd received him well. The cool thing about EOW is that although they have international success, they pretty much work with any artist who needs a spot to get featured. They’re based in New York, as far as the US is concerned, but they tour every now and then, and out-of-town artists who visit NYC, are welcome to stop by and get them selves featured.

Friday 11/24:  Chingy has recorded 123 personalized ringtones, in a mobile music first. Using the hook “Damn Girl, how’d you get all that in dem jeans,” replacing “girl” with one of 123 various female names. It may be a mobile music first, but does anyone other then pubescent teen girls care? Seriously, are there grown women out there who think his high-pitched Q-Tip-On-Helium voice is sexy? That’s a serious question. Ask the women you know. I’m curious.

Saturday 11/25:  I found out today that Big Boi of Outkast is gearing up to appear in a few episodes of “Girlfriends.” The rapper will play him self and discover Lynn (Persia White) as a talented musician he recruits to work on his album.
