This week on the Billboard 200 albums chart, XXXTENTACION remains the highest-ranking Hip Hop artist with his sophomore effort ? landing at No. 2. Despite the mounting controversy surrounding the 20-year-old Florida rapper, his music continues to be a success on the charts.
Elsewhere, Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. and Lil Uzi Vert’s Luv Is Rage 2 experienced slight upticks in week-over-week sales and lastly, Toni Braxton, Diplo and Trouble all debut inside the Top 200 with their latest projects.
XXXTENTACION Drops To #2
XXXTENTACION’s sophomore album ? falls to #2 this week due in part to a 42% decrease in sales. X’s latest full-length effort moved 76,302 total album equivalent units during the seven days leading to March 29. Of that figure, 4,262 were pure album sales.
The controversial Florida rapper has been in the news again recently after a video of him hitting a girl in the face emerged online. His attorney said the video “was taken completely in jest” but the girl in the video had a different story.
