Given that the 2019 Super Bowl will take place in the city where “the players play,” crooner Bruno Mars offered a few suggestions for the big game’s intermission.
The halftime show veteran hit Twitter on Monday (February 5) for clarification that next year’s Super Bowl would in fact take place in Atlanta. After receiving confirmation from fans (and Waffle House), Bruno made the case for a Hip Hop-heavy halftime set.
“. @NFL you have the opportunity to celebrate incredible Hip Hop Artist from Atlanta Next year,” Bruno Mars tweeted.
The Grammy Award-winning musician then offered his thoughts on who the NFL should consider for the show. Among the artists Bruno suggested were Outkast and Gucci Mane.

“. @NFL Outkast. T.I Gucci, lil jon, Jeezy, Jermaine Dupri just to name a few. it would be the best party Tv has ever seen!,” he wrote.
Bruno’s list of potential acts even got a cosign from Gucci Mane himself. Gucci declared that such a show would be “legendary.”
While the Gucci Mane halftime show idea may be a new one, this isn’t the first time Outkast has been mentioned as potential performers for the 2019 Super Bowl halftime show.
In 2016, after it was announced that Atlanta would host the 2019 Super Bowl, fans quickly rallied around the idea of a halftime show featuring the duo.

But in a 2015 interview, Big Boi said the group had previously turned down the opportunity to perform.
“We were supposed to perform at the Super Bowl,” he said. “But we had two songs, ‘The Way You Move’ and ‘Hey Ya’ and [Andre 3000] didn’t want to split the songs up. He didn’t want to cut the songs. He wanted to do both songs. They was like, ‘Y’all can’t do it.”
“To this day, he’s like, his son tells him, ‘Dad, you should’ve performed at the Super Bowl,’” Big Boi explained. “We look at it now, we laugh, but hopefully they’ll invite us back.”
