This week in Hip Hop, the official tracklist for Eminem’s Revival was revealed (yes, that’s tracklist, singular). Also, Big Sean and Metro Boomin dropped their Double Or Nothing collaborative project on December 8 and Migos were apparently recruiting Everyday Struggle lookalikes of Joe Budden, Nadeska Alexis and DJ Akademiks for an upcoming music video.
Eminem’s “Revival” Tracklist Unveiled
The hype surrounding Eminem’s Revivalramped up even more this week following the release of the highly anticipated album’s tracklist. It’s a 19-track project, filled with features from the likes of Phresher, Kehlani, Ed Sheeran, P!nk, Alicia Keys, and of course Beyoncé for “Walk On Water.”
The pop-heavy list of guest artists named on the project left some fans confused and disappointed. Even 2 Chainz not-so-subtly shared his thoughts about the tracklist via a few choice emojis on Instagram, before changing his tune with another post that took a more positive outlook about possibly being replaced by Phresher on the track titled “Chloraseptic.”

Fans are also devising a theory that Revival will be a double LP.
KXNG Crooked inadvertently helped push that idea when he shared a fake Disc 2 tracklist on Twitter, asking “What’s this?” Turns out he was as confused as everyone else about the image and eventually deleted the tweet. He also shot down the double-LP theory while visiting #DXLive.
“I just asked a simple question,” Crooked explained. “I guess the Stans decided to go on the attack. They said, ‘Wait a minute. If he’s tweeting it, this must be what it is.’ And I’m like, ‘Yo, I’m just asking a question.’”
Promotion for Revival has mostly been calculated so there’s no telling what will actually happen on December 15. Slim Shady is always full of surprises.

Big Sean Drops Tape With Metro Boomin
Big Sean and Metro Boomin’s 10-track Double Or Nothing project dropped on December 8 with features from Young Thug, Travis Scott, 2 Chainz and fellow Detroit rapper Kash Doll.
Their previously released cut “Pull Up N Wreck” featuring 21 Savage came as a surprise to fans but was just a preview of what Sean and Metro had in store.

Sean’s punchlines on the project ended up going viral for all the wrong reasons, getting roasted on Twitter (and in DX’s review).

Migos Looking For “Everyday Struggle” Lookalikes
The Control The Streets Vol. 1compilationdropped this week with new music from some of the Quality Control roster’s biggest names. One song in particular with Lil Yachty and Migos member Quavo called “Ice Tray” took aim at Joe Budden by effectively turning his name into a noun that is equivalent to the meaning of hater.

“If a nigga hatin’ call him Joe Budden,” Quavo rapped with an additional “pussy” ad-lib for effect. Budden, of course, responded to the slight on Twitter.
All of this stems from an awkward interview on Complex’s Everyday Struggle show, which was taping live from the 2017 BET Music Awards in June. Now, it appears that they’re looking to recreate the drama from that interview and are in search of Joe Budden, DJ Akademiks and Nadeska Alexis lookalikes.

Is Eminem Afraid To Give Us A Pure Hip Hop Album?
DX’s editor-in-chief Trent Clark penned a piece questioning Eminem’s allegiance to pure Hip Hop. Em’s album is slated to feature some of pop’s biggest acts in the world including Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran and Kehlani and will drop December 15.

Sing For The Moment: Breaking Down The Features On Eminem’s “Revival”
