Meek Mill has officially filed documents requesting his release from prison, according to TMZ.
The publication reports that within the new documents – which were filed in his home state of Pennsylvania on Wednesday (November 15) – Meek’s legal team argues that his two-to-four-year prison sentence is the result of a vendetta against him by Judge Genece Brinkley.
Meek Mill’s lawyers also argue that the two incidents Brinkley says constituted his probation violation – misdemeanor assault and driving recklessly – were dismissed charges and had already been dropped. The documents also reportedly cite Meek’s probation officer testifying that the rapper had shown progress.
In addition to his release from prison, Meek Mill is also asking that his probation be completely terminated. The MMG rapper says he’s matured and has “generally been rehabilitated” after becoming a father and through his music career.

TMZ also reports that Meek is currently stuck in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day. His lawyers say that prison officials are keeping him separate from the rest of the inmates for his safety, but they argue that he’ll be fine in gen pop. Meek’s lawyers also say being cooped up in solitary for so long is hindering his creativity.
These latest developments come just days after it emerged that the FBI is reportedly investigating the judge presiding over Meek’s case. An anonymous source told Page Six that undercover agents have been monitoring the court proceedings in Meek Mill’s case for over a year.
