Will and Jada Pinkett Smith didn’t give Tyrese $5 million, despite the star’s claims that they did, according to TMZ.

The singer-songwriter-turned-actor took to Instagram on Sunday (November 5) to announce that the power couple had sent him the generous amount to help with his ongoing legal fees.

“My wife kept the news away from me cause I’ve been on with lawyers all day but our family and our sister Jada Pinkett Smith and my brother Will Smith just sent us 5 million dollars to help keep us afloat,” Tyrese wrote.

However, citing sources directly connected to Will and Jada, TMZ reports that the two stars haven’t handed over any money at all.

In his original post, Tyrese claimed that the Smiths’ gesture did come with one request: for him to stay off social media.

“You’ve guys asked me to get off and stay off the Internet now that my daughters legal fees will be paid ! will listen…..,” Tyrese added, although he has continued to be active online in the days since.

While it’s now being reported that the Smiths haven’t sent Tyrese financial aid, TMZ’s sources say they are “extremely worried” that their friend is having a breakdown.

Posting on IG this week, Tyrese lifted a can of Coke from a table and said, “Thank you to Coca Cola for the product placement, they know I’m going broke. I’m waiting on my Will Smith wire. It ain’t came in yet.”

Tyrese has been fighting a number of legal battles over the past few months. He is currently locked in a court battle with his ex-wife, Norma Gibson, over custody of their 10-year-old daughter, Shayla. Tyrese was being investigated by authorities after he was accused of abusing Shayla earlier this year, but the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services reportedly closed their investigation into the incident last week.

In late October, Tyrese checked himself into a Los Angeles hospital following a stressful day in court. He had reportedly been experiencing chest pains, bouts of dehydration and anxiety.

In addition to his legal troubles, Tyrese has been recently using social media to call out Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson after it was announced that Johnson’s The Fast & The Furious spinoff film has been greenlit for 2019. Tyrese later said that he wouldn’t return to the multi-billion dollar franchise if Johnson continued to be involved.

“Hello world………. hello loyal fans and loved ones from OUR fast universe…….. I’m sorry to announce that if Dewayne is in Fast9 there will no more Roman Peirce,” Tyrese wrote.
