P!nk admits that it took a little “liquid courage” to ask Eminem to appear on her new album, Beautiful Trauma. The rap luminary pops up on the project’s single “Revenge.”
During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, P!nk detailed how the song came about. The singer confessed she mustered up the courage to ask Em after drinking lots of wine with the one of the song’s co-producers, Max Martin.
“I sneak-attacked him,” P!nk said. “[Producer] Max [Martin] and I started making [‘Revenge’], and I wrote this rap. We were drinking a lot of wine, and then I went home and I thought more wine would be a good idea.”
She continued,“I emailed [Eminem]. This is why they call it liquid courage. And I said, ‘You know I love you. I like that you work with a lot of the same people, like Rihanna. She’s hotter than me, but I’m funnier. So I’m going for a rap Grammy, and I’d like to take you along with me.’ It was this long email, and he wrote back right away and just said, ‘Okay.’”

Although Eminem was in Rio de Janeiro when she sent over her request, P!nk says she found the finished track in her inbox just four days later.
“I emailed him again, I was like, ‘This is the best thing I’ve ever heard! I want to tackle you and rub your face in the dirt!’”
“He just wrote back and was like, ‘Okay,’” P!nk added.
“Revenge” serves as the third collaboration between Eminem and P!nk. In 2010, the singer featured on “Won’t Back Down” from Em’s seventh studio album, Recovery. Two years later, Eminem appeared on P!nk’s “Here Comes the Weekend” off her The Truth About Love LP.
