Revered producer Diplo, who has worked with everyone from Future to Madonna, recently admitted there’s one artist on his radar he simply can’t land — Rihanna. In an interview with GQ, the Major Lazer mastermind said, “I just want her on a Major Lazer song. She’s like the one artist that we can’t ever get.”

According to Diplo, that’s because RiRi thinks his music sounds like something played at the airport. Diplo attempted to play the Barbados beauty a track during a session with Future, the Weeknd and Metro Boomin, but she wasn’t having it.

“I was so contact high,” Diplo said. “Future played her, like, 700 songs. It was four in the morning. Finally, I was like, ‘Yo, G, I’m leaving unless you let me play her a song.’ So I played her a song. And she was like, ‘This sounds like a reggae song at an airport [laughs].’ I was like, ‘I’m gonna go kill myself.'”

He said he thought they’d eventually posse up on a track in the future, but added, “If not, I don’t really care.”
