Ice Cube was immortalized on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame Monday (June 12). The legendary MC officially received his star alongside the likes of Marilyn Monroe and Michael Jackson.
Most of the living members of N.W.A (Dr. Dre, DJ Yella and MC Ren), Russell Simmons, Big Boi, Xzibit, Sir Jinx and Yo-Yo were in attendance for the induction. WC and director John Singleton also spoke at the ceremony before Cube took the stage for his own speech.
“I’m so honored to be here,” Cube said. “It’s a great day. I wanna thank everybody in the city of Los Angeles, the city of Hollywood … everybody that had to do with me getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I really appreciate it.”
During the special celebration of his career, the Interscope Records artist acknowledged the many people who assisted him along the way in music and film, including the late DJ Crazy Toones, WC’s brother and Cube’s longtime tour DJ.

“You know, you don’t get here by yourself,” he said. “And when you’re coming up doing music, movies, just trying to be creative, you never figure you’ll be on the Hollywood Walk of Fame one day. Today is not really about Ice Cube. It’s about all the people who helped me get here.”
Cube just wrapped up a busy weekend, which was highlighted by his confrontational chat with Bill Maher over the comedian’s use of the n-word.
