“I did this for a project I did in Houston a while ago. Here u go,” Travis Scott said in a tweet. And with that, the world received his long-awaited visual for “Way Back,” which is taken from his acclaimed 2016 album Birds In the Trap Sing McKnight.

Fans will recall Scott designed limited edition Houston Rockets apparel for the team’s 2017 NBA playoff run. It appears that his ties with the home team run deep even as we see its star player James Harden face the music after blowing it in a game six loss against the San Antonio Spurs. The video is highlighted in Wednesday (May 31)’s DX Digest along with Snoop Dogg’s animated visual, a single from Curren$y and more.

Travis Scott – “Way Back”

After an MVP-worthy season, James Harden’s abysmal performance in a game six loss to the San Antonio Spurs ended the Houston Rockets’ 2017 playoff run. Harden confronts this harsh reality as the star in Travis Scott’s visual for “Way Back,” in which he plays himself one-on-one (but not without a handful of distractions). It’s safe to assume that’s a metaphor for life. Watch the video above.

Snoop Dogg F. Redman, Method Man & B-Real – “Mount Kushmore”

Forty-seven hours is all it took for Snoop Dogg and his motley crew of rap brethren — Redman, Method Man, and B-Real — to carve their faces on “Mount Kushmore,” effectively setting off President Cheeto Jesus in the process (yet again). The animated clip is for a standout song from Snoop’s new album Neva Left.

Curren$y – “She Don’t Stop”

It’s a treat whenever Curren$y connects with DJ/producer Don Cannon. The two are currently in Atlanta working on the Jet Life founder’s Smokey Robinson 2: Smokey’s Revenge mixtape. A sampling of their new material arrived Wednesday (May 21). It’s titled “She Don’t Stop.”

Kemba – “Caesar’s Rise”

Bronx MC Kemba drops a visual for “Caesar’s Rise” that could easily be titled “Friend or Foe ’17.” Directed by Jonathan Salmon, the story depicts a day in the life of three friends. The crew is far from innocent.

AD & Sorry Jaynari – “40’s”

Don’t let Compton rapper AD’s newfound fame fool you. He stays strapped and isn’t afraid to use it. At least, that’s the messaging in his visual for “40’s” from his Last of the ’80s project. Of course, Sorry Jaynari produced the song.

Dave – “100M’s”

Talk about an artist with an upside. UK rapper Dave (AKA Santan Dave) saw his star rise in 2016 with the release of his Six Paths EP and Drake’s unexpected remix of “Wanna Know.” Just a week shy of his 19th birthday, the up and comer debuts a video for “100M’s,” an anthemic tune that discusses the struggle and displays his ability to rhyme in the uptempo Grime pocket (just as he can write in the traditional rap vein).

If art imitates life, we can only imagine how Chief Keef is living. The Chicago-bred rapper is preparing his new album, Thot Breaker, for a June 9 release. Now, Keef antes up with “Going Home,” a Hollywood J and CBMix-produced single that’s been floating around the web for some time.

Kirko Bangz – “Swang N Bang”

Kirko Bangz has seen his “Swang N Bang” record get some traction in his native city of Houston. A fresh visual has finally arrived for the rest of the world to see. The record has more of a Southern California vibe, which he pays homage to with a fleet of lowrider bikes.

Polyester the Saint f. Dom Kennedy – “On The Regular”

Los Angeles’ own Polyester the Saint revisits his 2016 American Muscle project with a clean video for “On The Regular.” Directed by XB Cinema, phenomenal lighting defines the clip as the West Coast duo perform in front of a few head-turning whips. The rhyme was totally unintentional.
