Thursday morning’s edition of the DX Digest highlights two forefathers of present-day Atlanta’s music scene, Gucci Mane and Zaytoven. This week, New York City was host to a special live acoustic performance by the duo at Red Bull Music Academy. And there’s no hyperbole when we say this is what greatness looks and sounds like. Zaytoven took the audience the church on the keys as Guwop delivered a sermon laden with his trap parables. See the footage below, along with a CDQ version of Frank Ocean’s “Biking (Solo),” a new visual for Big Boi’s record with Adam Levine and more.
Gucci Mane and Zaytoven Perform Acoustic Set At RBMA Festival New York
This might deserve tears. Gucci Mane and producer Zaytoven have been a winning combination for over 10 years, and it showed last night during the Red Bull Music Academy Festival in New York City. There, the producer/rapper team performed an acoustic set, with Guwop manning the microphone and Zaytoven maneuvering the piano keys as they ran through the former’s catalog.
Frank OceAN – “Biking (Solo)”
Episode 6 of Frank Ocean’s blonded RADIO brought listeners plenty of new material by and featuring the singer-songwriter. That includes this solo version of “Biking,” a catchy song that originally featured Jay Z. It appears that Franky sees a future for this gem, as he adds it to the major streaming platforms.

Big Boi ft. Adam Levine – “Mic Jack”
https://youtu.be/TAhOumyEJOE
Big Boi officially announced that his third studio album Boomiverse releases on June 16. With that news came a visual for his Adam Levine-assisted tune “Mic Jack.” The Maroon 5 frontman doesn’t give the best customer service in the clip. However, he’s more than capable of crooning the smooth hook. Separately, Big Boi’s mink is so cold that he takes it to outer space.
Brockhampton – “Heat”
Self-proclamation is big in rap, so we can understand why a rising group like Brockhampton calling themselves an “ALL AMERICAN BOY BAND” would inspire a deep sigh. Fortunately, the crew can back their claim with music, as proven in their new visual for “Heat.” Produced by Romil and Jabari, the abrasive tune finds Ameer Vann, Merlyn Wood, Dom McLennon, Joba, and Matt Champion trading verses. And yes, the track is as glorious as the Kevin Abstract-directed clip is striking.

Jay Worthy f. Sha Hef – “Stepping Out”
It’s a crime that more MCs don’t commission The Alchemist to produce full-length projects. Luckily, Jay Worthy sees the big picture, as he and the veteran producer prepare their Fantasy Island project. Here’s the latest leak, “Stepping Out,” featuring Sha Hef. Backed by a beat smoother than any Uncle Clyde in existence, we hear the duo deliver their slickest rhymes. Don’t mind that the bars aren’t the most dexterous, this song is about the vibe. Birthed from a chance encounter the two had at a Meyhem Lauren show in Vancouver, Fantasy Island will feature six tracks.

Tate Kobang – “Dis Side”
Boom-bap drums are all Baltimore product Tate Kobang needs to get his thoughts off on “Dis Side.” The song receives a video treatment, in which the 300 Entertainment artist posts in a fiery warehouse with his homies.
T-Pain – “You don’t know shiT”
No T-Pain slander will be tolerated on this side, especially when he delivers songs that sound as good as “You Don’t Know Shit.” Music’s resident maestro of autotune crooning is so adept at his craft that his lyrics on this one are crude at times. Of course, his words come in the framework of a nasty argument between him and his girlfriend. Not an excuse, but I’m just saying.

Wifisfuneral f. Smoke Purp – “Run It Up”
Now that the ink’s dry on a deal with Alamo/Interscope Records, wifisfuneral returns with his new track, “Run It Up,” featuring Smoke Purpp. Produced by Cris Dinero, this release is very of the moment, from the call-and-repeat-style chorus and trap-influenced production.
Troy Ave – “Press Spray”
Things just got spicy. Troy Ave ups the ante in his ongoing rap beef (if you even want to call it that) with retired rapper Joe Budden and fellow New Yorker Mysonne. The self-ordained NuPac’s back and forth banter with the aforementioned guys spills into his video for “Press Spray.” It’s not exactly a high-budget affair, but it certainly gives Troy Ave a platform to get his thoughts off.
