Washington, D.C.

Donald Trump’s administration has been dominating headlines from Washington but there’s also some Hip Hop news coming out of the capital.

A Colorado high school student’s painting of Kendrick Lamar (titled “Utmost Appreciation”) was one of the works chosen by the Congressional Art Competition panel. Every congressman is allowed to choose a submission from their own district to display on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C.

Republican Scott Tipton, 3rd District of Colorado congressman, congratulated the student on her achievement via Twitter. “Congrats to @CHS1876 student Tiona Cordova for taking 1st in the 3rd District Congressional Art Competition with ‘Utmost Appreciation,'” he wrote.

Ms. Cordova’s work of art will be displayed at the U.S. Capitol for an entire year. Check it out below.
