The Tuesday (May 16) version of the DX Digest highlights a pair of new tracks from Snoop Dogg – “Go On” and “Swivel” – ahead of his new album, Neva Left, which is scheduled for a Friday (May 19) release. Dynamically different in their sonic compositions, each song displays a wide range of artistic approach that’s kept the Long Beach legend relevant after all these years. Below, you’ll also hear David Banner reference Mississippi’s history on “Magnolia” with Cee-Lo Green and Raheem DeVaughn, a slick EarthGang video for “Voodoo” and more.

Snoop Dogg f. October London – “Go On”

Snoop Dogg returns with that summertime “riding in your car solo with all the windows down” music. Titled “Go On,” the song features singer October London and appear on The Doggfather’s Neva Left album. With its lush instrumentation, it’ll have listeners put on their dancing shoes in no time. What else would you expect from Uncle Snoop?

Snoop Dogg f. Stresmatic – “Swivel”

Having experimented with his musical style in recent years, it appears Snoop will also return to his raw Long Beach roots on the aforementioned Neva Left. The latest leak from the project, “Swivel,” features a myriad of football references.

David Banner f. Cee-Lo Green & Raheem DeVaughn – “Magnolia”

David Banner recounts his Southern roots on the new track “Magnolia” with fellow Southerner CeeLo Green and Raheem DeVaughn. The song follows the song “Who Want It” with The Roots’ Black Thought.

Earth Gang – “Voodoo”

You mess with the bull … you get the horns. And if you’re Earth Gang, doing wrong by your girlfriend is a quick way to get a root put on you. Atlanta duo Johnny Venus and Doctur Dot return with a bright visual for “Voodoo” from the Spillage Village compilation album, Bears Like This Too Much.

Flying Lotus – “Night Grows Pale”

https://soundcloud.com/flyinglotus/night-grows-pale

Flying Lotus finds inspiration in Queen’s “White Queen (As It Began)” on his newly released track “Night Grows Pale.” Of course, the Los Angeles producer sprinkles some special seasoning on this production as his patented drums sound off throughout.

Jazz Cartier – “Tempted”

Toronto’s Jazz Cartier catches the bad end of a beat down in his Anthony Pellino-directed visual for “Tempted.” The scenario starts off in the rising rapper’s favor as he entertains a few ladies before things go left. During the melee, he continues to rhyme his verses along to the T-Minus and Lantz-produced beat. Look for his FLEUREVER album to drop this year.

Jean Lephare f. Curren$y – “Leanin”

Portions of Jean Lephare’s visual for “Leanin” are reminiscent of forgotten Roc-A-Fella Records act Christión’s and the video for “Full of Smoke.” However, this is 2017, so we see the crooner accompanied by Curren$y, clad in an iced-out watch and chain. The track appeared on Lephare’s 2016 album Toast, which is out now.

ILOVEMAKONNEN – “Is You Plugged?”

ILOVEMAKONNEN has resurfaced with “Is You Plugged?,” which was first released a few months back, only to be immediately taken down from SoundCloud. The tune has finally returned in a visual backed by by UBER and creative agency jointheorg. Yes, your boy Makonnen got some sponsorship.

KEY! – “LOVE Hate”

A #KEYCUDIEP hashtag on SoundCloud will raise brows long before you press play on KEY!’s new track “Love Hate.” Produced by K Swisha, the song is listenable, but won’t rank high in the Atlanta native’s catalog. Although, we are interested in seeing if he actually has something in the works with Kid Cudi.
