Following the release of 2015’s ultra popular Straight Outta Compton, more Hip Hop artists are pushing for their stories to be told on the big screen.

Memphis-based rap group Three 6 Mafia may be the next in line to have their history captured in biopic format.

DJ Paul dropped some subtle intel on the possibility during a recent interview with the Murder Master Music Show. Fellow guest Bushwick Bill of Geto Boys asked Paul about a Three 6 movie, and DJ Paul revealed that it’s in the works.

“That shit already in motion. We need a movie from all of us,” DJ Paul said.

This news comes weeks before the release of one of the year’s most anticipated films, All Eyez On Me. Scheduled for release on June 16, All Eyez On Me will detail the life and death of the late Tupac Shakur.

Also in the interview, DJ Paul spoke on the struggle of being part of a Southern rap group at a time when New York Hip Hop reigned.

“The South — we had to have our own record labels,” he said. “Because New York wasn’t hearing that.”
