Par for the course, don’t expect much continuity as far as a singular sonic direction in today’s version of the DX Digest. In the top slot, we have a new video for “Coming Home” from Bone Thugs — the recently formed duo of Bizzy and Krayzie Bone from the legendary Bone Thugs-n-Harmony crew. Following closely behind is Meek Mill’s visual for “Left Hollywood,” which finds the Philly rapper heading to his hometown as well. From there, the Fetty Wap-assisted song from Monty represents the East Coast, Ne-Yo reps the South, Illa J and Jeremih keep it pushing for the Midwest, while Reezy and Dizzy Wright handle all West Coast duties.
Bone thugs f. Stephen marley – “coming home”
After announcing they were officially a duo, Krayzie and Bizzy Bone of the infamous Bone Thugs-n-Harmony crew have released their first video under their new moniker — Bone Thugs. Titled “Coming Home,” the visual also features Stephen Marley, who performs the hook with his raspy Jamaican accent. Posted up on a tour bus with a joint in hand, Marley sings along while Bizzy and Krayzie reflect on their hometown of Cleveland where it all began. Directed by Jakob Owens, the video portrays all the things they love about their old Ohio stomping grounds.
Meek Mill – “left hollywood”
Directed by Will Ngo, Meek Mill’s video for “Left Hollywood” brings the autobiographical song to life and finds the Philly native heading back to his hometown in an effort to flee the lights, camera and action of Los Angeles. Meek is currently on tour with Yo Gotti on the Against All Odds Tour.

Monty f. fetty wap – “playoff”
After Fetty Wap’s meteoric rise, some listeners speculated that his right-hand man Monty would continue what appeared to be a perpetual run of hit records. That hypothesis has yet to materialize, but the New Jersey rapper continues to burn the midnight oil on his new single “Playoff,” featuring Fetty. Everything about this song is hypnotic — from the duo playing off of their respective rapping and singing styles to hazy production from Peoples and NickE Beats. “Playoff,” while undoubtedly a song meant to be played in the whip, likely won’t bring the 1738 crew back to prominence.
Ne-yo – “earn your love”
Yours truly is no self-proclaimed expert on R&B, but no one can convince me that Ne-Yo’s remix of Kendrick Lamar’s “HUMBLE.” was it. Thankfully, the Grammy Award-winner returns to his lane with “Earn Ur Love,” a song where he proclaims that a woman should “show him that he’s worthy” of her love. Remember folks, great things happen when you stay in your lane.

illa j – “sam cook”
You have to appreciate that classic, stick-to-your-ribs Detroit soul music, and how could Illa J give us anything else with a song titled “Sam Cook”? The track arrived with confirmation of his upcoming album, Home, due out on June 30 via Jakarta Records. “Get these fuckin’ bills paid, Sam Cook it till the meal’s made,” Ill chants over a sample chopped with a chef’s precision. Whatever this is, it’s time to order more.

The Still Movin crew is 14 weeks strong in their “Still Movin’ Monday” campaign. Here, producer Reezy architects a beat with “that bounce” to cater to the ladies, which he does with some assistance from Dizzy Wright. The duo trades potent verses – Reezy’s anchored by a melodic delivery, while Dizzy keeps his lines more player, but in a rapper’s rapper kind of way. We give this a thumbs up.
jeremih – “cinco de Mihyo” EP
Of all the people one might expect to champion Cinco De Mayo, who’d have thought Jeremih would top the list? The Chicago crooner returns with the Cinco De Mihyo EP, featuring five new tracks. Birthed out of studio sessions with producer Bongo and “a few shots of tequila,” expect some variation of festive and sultry tunes here.
