Hoping not to drown in the wake of Kendrick Lamar’s monster release, DAMN., Kap G has braved the waters with a project of his own, the SupaJefe mixtape. Boasting guest spots from Chris Brown (“I See You”), Dae Dae (“I Heard”), Kapfe (“CEO”) and Pharrell Williams (“Icha Gicha”), the 12-track offering follows his last mixtape, El Southside, which dropped in 2016.

Routinely drawing from his deeply-rooted Mexican heritage, beginning with projects like 2014’s Real Migo Sh*t and Like A Mexican, the Atlanta native aims to bring a freshness to the current rap landscape despite the laundry list of aspiring artists competing for the spotlight. With co-signs from Pharell and Brown, and his hit song “Girlfriend,” it appears he’s off to an exceptional start. Over the past couple of years, the 22-year-old has also worked with Wiz Khalifa and Kirko Bangz on “Tatted Like Amigos,” and Young Thug on the single “Don’t Need ‘Em.”
