Alas, Friday (April 7) has arrived and the DX Digest is full of new singles and videos aimed to get anyone through the weekend. In the top slot is Joey Bada$$’s freestyle on The Angie Martinez Show and sliding in at a close second is KYLE’s new video for “iSPY” featuring Lil Yachty. AZ, Raekwon and Prodigy’s “Save Them” nabs the third slot while October London’s EP, and Tuki Carter and Juicy J’s video for “Jerry Maguire” rounds out the top five. Further down the list, Chuck D introduces Ric Wilson’s latest single, “Hang Loose,” while OG Maco has a little something to say about Logic, then T-Pain drops a “T-Mix,” Eric Bellinger sports a blonde hairdo in “Make You Mine” with Christina Milian, T.F plays a samurai, and Short Moscato dives into his mental state.

Joey bada$$- “Freestyle”

As a recent guest on The Angie Martinez Show, Joey Bada$$, who just dropped his monster album, All-Amerikkkan Bada$$, spit a rowdy freestyle over Kodak Black’s “Tunnel Vision.” The Brooklyn rapper will undoubtedly be popping up left and right to promote his new project, which also features high profile artists like ScHoolboy Q, J. Cole and Styles P. Check out the freestyle above and stream the album here.

kyle f. lil yachty – “ispy”

After delivering the single late last year, KYLE is finally back with a proper video for “iSPY” featuring the red-haired Lil Yachty. In the video, the pair is reduced to pint-size versions of themselves (albeit it with giant heads) as they sit on the beach in a tiny sandbox just talking about life.

Az, Raekwon & Prodigy – “save them”

AZ stopped by the Shade45 building for an interview with DJ Kay Slay and at some point decided to debut the Buckwild-produced track, “Save Them” featuring Raekwon and Mobb Deep’s Prodigy. Sadly, all that’s available for now is a preview of the track, but those lucky enough to have Apple Music can find the full version here.

October London – “Color blind: Hate & Happiness”

Snoop Dogg’s artist October London has finally unveiled his seven-track EP, Color Blind: Hate & Happiness, which he’s been teasing for a while with singles like “Driving Me To Drink” and an appearance on Snoop’s GGNshow. With its blues and soul-oriented sound, the project properly introduced London to the world and even includes a guest spot from The Doggfather on the track “Top Down.” Listen in full above.

ric wilson f. Chuck D – “hang loose”

After the success of “Soul Bounce,” Ric Wilson is back with another track “Hang Loose,” only this time he’s earned a co-sign from Public Enemy frontman Chuck D. “Public Enemy had a show at Metro last year,” Wilson explains to HipHopDX. “I opened for them and Chuck was watching my set backstage. We connected afterwards. Chuck is really busy, but a couple days before I came out with the song, he gave me the ok to put it in the record. It was a really affirming statement that I really needed at a time where I was feeling hella rejection with my transformation of coming into my new current style giving my political and organizing background.”

og maco – “for logic fans aka the internet”

After people started saying Logic could outrap OG Maco on Twitter, the latter decided to put his skills to the test with his latest track, “For Logic Fans AKA The Internet.” Produced by Scott Storch, the track comes with an explanation from Maco via SoundCloud, “I watch the internet hype up mediocre rappers and downplay the kids making music that makes them move. Just because someone is saying a thousand words a minute doesn’t mean they’re the best.” OG Maco 3 is expected to arrive on April 23.

T.F – “panda xprss”

HipHopDX’s own Shirley Ju makes a cameo appearance in T.F’s new video for “Panda Xpress.” According to a press release, as a kid, all T.F wanted was to be a Kung Fu master. To fulfill his dreams, he created the over six-minute short film to illustrate his skills as a karate fighter from South Central for the No Hooks cut. T.F sends a special shout out to all the kids who wish they could be in a Kung Fu movie.

short moscato – “love is forever”

Apparently written while on drugs, Short Moscato’s new single, “Love Is Forever,” explores the Buffalo, New York artist’s seemingly bi-polar psyche and mental state. “The video aims to show the viewer that my plight is much like anyone else’s,” Moscato said in a press release. “[I just want] to be heard, to be seen and to be understood, although it seems like none of those things will ever happen. I am simply trapped inside my own head, thus the gritty and opaqueness of the visual.”
