Spotify is making the jump into original programming, and one of its first efforts will be Traffic Jams, a weekly show where a musician and a producer who have never worked together before will link up in the back of an SUV.
The eight-part series, which is co-produced by Russell Simmons’ All Def Digital, will start with T-Pain working with producer Southside to create a song as they drive through L.A. rush hour traffic. The challenge is to complete a whole new song by the time they reach their destination, where they will then perform it for a live audience.
The inaugural season for the show taps a wide range of talent. The remainder of the schedule looks like this: D.R.A.M. and Melo X (April 11), Joey Bada$$ and Cardo (April 18), Pell and Illmind (April 25), Jidenna and Sonny Digital (May 2), MadeinTYO and AraabMuzik (May 9), Dae Dae and Marvel Alexander (May 16) and E-40 and Willie B (May 23).
The show will premiere on April 4. Check out the trailer above.
