As President Barack Obama prepared to leave the White House Friday, many expressed gratitude toward him while some kept it light.

DXclusives: Soulja Boy vs. Chris Brown, A.K., Candice Pillay & P La Cangri
Reasons why the Soulja Boy vs. Chris Brown fight won’t be happening gets the rundown by Ural Garrett.
Those reasons include: no venue, no true promoter, no confirmed method of watching and above all else, Chris Brown isn’t even talking about it anymore. He’s too busy promoting Black Pyramid and his single with Usher and Gucci Mane, “Party.”
HipHopDX also got a moment with Sonny Digital associated artist A.K. recently and he exclusively talks about the project he’s gearing up to drop this year.

“The project name is Audio Art because everyone has an artform of something they do,” he said. “That was the whole idea behind the name from. I’m shooting the February the 21, which is my birthday. If not, the 28 which is my mother’s birthday. I’m trying to speak to the youth and keep our culture alive. Cause it’s like, if nobody is talking about it, then it’ll be lost. You can see where Hip Hop is going now. If we don’t teach the kids or even guide them in the right. My gift is music and that’s always been my plan.”
Shirley Ju got a chance to catch up with Grammy Award-nominated songwriter Candice Pillay and she gushed about her first encounter with Dr. Dre and Rihanna.
“I was such a fan of Dre,” she said. “I grew up with his poster on my wall. Rihanna is just a dope person. She’s really cool, also really down to earth. She’s like a homie to me. They’re just really good people, and you get to work with people on the same level musically. To me, it’s just all part of my plan. I’ve always known that I was going to do this since I was a kid. It’s just the next, the next thing.”
Lastly, radio personality, rapper and businesswoman P La Cangri caught up with DX to talk about working in the industry as a woman among some men who want more than a business relationship.

“That’s been one of the most difficult things and learning how to deal with men with finesse and still have them on your team helping you move your career and move your music forward without having to compromise your dignity,” she said. “I think there’s a way of handling this without offending anybody or having to do what some women choose to do and that’s their issue. The problem that I run into is you go into a meeting and you’re meeting with someone and you’re having this incredible meeting about music and all of a sudden, it turns into some kind of sexual thing that wasn’t part of the conversation. And then you get aggravated and you look for blame in the man because he came on to you, but that man is letting you know that there has been 10 other women before me that have slept with him or have done something compromising. So I’m the weirdo because I won’t. It’s not that I’m a weirdo. It’s that like I said, I don’t choose to exchange my dignity for a contract or for money.”
