Azealia Banks is never out of the news for very long, though it seems as though she only pops up in headlines that have nothing at all to do with music.

Banks had a court date on Monday (November 29), where she stood accused of biting the breast of a female security person outside the New York downtown nightclub Up & Down. The bouncer was bruised and in serious pain after the alleged incident.

The bite-down occurred in December of last year, but Banks had missed previous court dates due to health reasons and a missed flight. She is charged with misdemeanor assault, attempted assault and disorderly conduct. After Banks missed the appearance in this case, the judge gave her one last chance to turn up or face jail time, according to the Daily Mail.

Banks took to her own Facebook page to comment on today’s court proceedings and appeared surprised at the media attention she has been getting, including from the International Business Times. She writes:

The court appearance follows the rapper filing battery charges against actor Russell Crowe for allegedly manhandling her, spitting on her and calling her racial slurs during a party. Many eyewitnesses, including RZA, have disputed Banks’ version of the facts. She has since dropped the case.

The 25-year-old New Yorker has courted controversy many times over the past few years, calling Zayn Malik from One Direction a “sand-nigger” and saying that Sarah Palin should be “gang-raped” by black men.
