New York, NY

This week on the R&B/Hip Hop single sales chart, Rae Sremmurd knocks The Weeknd off the top spot after their viral hit “Black Beatles” experienced a huge spike in sales. Elsewhere this week, John Legend’s new single “Love Me Now” debuts at #7 and lastly, Drake’s “Sneakin’” plummets from #6 to #15 following a 52% decrease in sales.

Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles” Shoots To #1

Rae Sremmurd’s popular single “Black Beatles” jumps four places to #1 this week after selling 144,082 units during the seven days leading to November 10 – a 320% sales uplift on last week’s figure. The success of the cut — which features Gucci Mane — is widely attributed to the #MannequinChallenge, the latest in viral videos that features people freeze-frame on film. The song also took the top spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 this week.

The Weeknd Slips To #2

The Weeknd’s single “Starboy” falls to #2 this week due to the aforementioned success of Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles.” The cut, which features Daft Punk, sold 62,145 units during the seven days leading to November 10 as the Canadian star prepares the release of the album of the same name.
