Solange brought sweet honey to our ears with her soulful A Seat at the Tablealbum, which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 albums chart.
Master P was heavily featured on the project, which explored what it means to be black in today’s society. The No Limit boss addressed the power of the Houston singer’s album at A3C last week.
“Solange is someone I think the game is missing,” he said, according to Billboard. “People been talking about Beyonce, even though Beyonce is a big star but Solange been working hard too. She’s been putting together her team of people and I feel like we all a part of that support team.”
With A Seat at the Table‘s chart accomplishment, Solange and Beyonce became the third set of siblings to have a #1 album.

The sisters had a moment of fallout with the infamous elevator incident where Solange attacked Queen Bey’s husband, Jay Z. But that didn’t seem to faze fans as they flocked to her album, which includes soothing cuts like “Cranes in the Sky.”
Master P says that people should embrace Solange as a role model for her artistry and perseverance.
“I think all women should chase their dreams and goals too,” he said. “She’s gonna be motivation for women that have been through a lot and want more out of life without being in the shadows of someone else. I think it’s good for the culture and I’m glad I was a part of it.”
HipHopDX gave A Seat at the Table a 4.5 out of 5 rating, saying “In an era where African Americans are being viewed as merely target practice for the men in blue, this intrepid soul is standing in the eye of the storm with her muzzle off.”
