The evening before Drake‘s 7th annual OVO Festival, the Canadian rapper posted an old note he wrote on the dawn of his third OVO Fest in 2012 pondering what’s next.
“The sun is up right now,” Drizzy penned on some notebook paper. “It’s the 3rd annual OVO Fest. Where to from here? It feels too perfect… But it seems like the evolution is attainable every time I try something. It seems like it just naturally occurs. So maybe we evolve more. Maybe we make it to the moon. Hope it’s not cold ’cause I’m only wearing a t-shirt.”
Four years later and the OVO Fest, held in his beloved hometown of Toronto, Canada, is as big as ever. The annual event has drawn massive crowds to the city each year.
At this year’s festival, which kicked off on Thursday (July 28), concert-goers looked forward to performances from Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, Future and The 6 God himself. Saturday’s Caribana celebration will feature Machel Montano, Beenie Man and a few “special guests.”
