New York, NY

Lil Yachty made an appearance on The Breakfast Club yesterday (June 30) and detailed recording “Beautiful Day,” a song featuring Kylie Jenner and Justine Skye.

When asked if Lil Yachty thought King Kylie had the potential to be an artist he didn’t hesitate to say no and reveals that he initially didn’t want Kylie, Justine nor their friend Jordyn Woods on the song.

“They wanted to do it and we weren’t going to put them on there and they were like, ‘You got to put us on there, you better put us on there,’ so I was like okay,” Lil Boat recalls.

Once the song was complete the “1 Night” rapper says that everyone in the studio knew the song wasn’t that great, describing it as “terrible.”

“They knew it was,” he says. “Everybody in the studio knew it was. It was like some fun stuff, it was joke.”

“Beautiful Day,” produced by Burberry Perry who flipped Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood‘s theme song, was released in May on the producer’s Soundcloud. The song has amassed over 6.5 million plays since its release.
