Freddie Gibbs has received the support of his family, following rape allegations.

Former NFL legend Eric Dickerson, who is also the future father-in-law of rapper Freddie Gibbs, has come to the musician’s defense after he was arrested in France at the top of this month for suspicion of an alleged rape.

While speaking with TMZ Sports, Dickerson, who says he’s not aware of the specifics, says both he and his daughter, Erica Dickerson believe Gibbs.

“I don’t know too much about the specifics of the situation, but I do know Freddie and I know his character … I believe him,” Eric Dickerson said. “I talked to Erica and she said that she knows Freddie and knows that he would never be capable of doing something like that.”

Dickerson also revealed that he has talked to Gibbs since his arrest, and says he informed the rapper “to stay positive.”

“When I talked to Freddie, I told him the main focus is to stay positive. He told me ‘I will fight this the whole way. I don’t want to go through this without clearing my name 100%,'” the former athlete said.

Most recently, Freddie Gibbs was ordered to be extradited to Austria, the country where he allegedly raped a woman last year. The musician is currently appealing the extradition order.
