Ludacris scheduled to perform at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base for Fourth of July celebration.
According to the Independent, Atlanta rapper Ludacris will serve as the headlining performer for this year’s Freedom Festival, which will be held at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba on the Fourth of July.
“Every year we get a special guest around the Fourth of July, but Gitmo hasn’t seen a star with as big a name as Ludacris in several years,” Navy Chief Monique Hilley told Radio Gitmo, according to the Independent. “The base is really looking forward to it.”
Although the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base houses the Guantanamo Bay detention camp, which holds those captured during the War On Terror, the concert will be held miles away from the prison, making it impossible for prisoners to take in the tunes of Luda’s “What’s Your Fantasy” or “Move B***h.”

The Guantanamo Bay detention camp has come under fire on numerous occasions due to prisoner conditions and alleged torture. In a video that surfaced in 2013, rapper Yasiin Bey took part in a force feeding procedure similar to what a prisoner at Guantanamo would go through twice a day.
Ludacris is expected to perform in front of a crowd of nearly 6,000 military personnel, during his concert at Guantanamo Bay.
