New York City, NY

YG recently offered his thoughts regarding the shooting that transpired at T.I.’s show at Irving Plaza in New York City late last month. (May 25). During the confrontation, one man was killed and another three individuals were shot and subsequently hospitalized, one of those being Troy Ave.

Troy Ave was later arrested and charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon after surveillance video appeared to show him firing a gun near a VIP area at the venue.

“Man, it’s sad, homie,” YG said during a recent interview with Power 105.1’s DJ Self. “It’s sad. Troy, that’s my dude. One time for Troy. I don’t even want to say what I really want to say on-air. It’s a sad thing. I dunno, bro, because I feel like this: if I got popped, I would have did the same thing. I would have made my way out that joint, period. And that just go for anybody else, that’s just reaction. Protocol… It come with the rap game and the streets. It come with it, bro.”

YG was later asked for his thoughts on whether or not the release of the surveillance footage and whether or not such constituted snitching.

“For sure. That’s snitching… You putting it up there so the world to see it, and with that might come consequences. Jail time, you gonna get somebody caught up like that. But everybody ain’t from the streets, so everybody ain’t thinking like that. Half of this shit is entertainment for some people. This is real stuff we go through everyday.”
